HONOR AND SUPPORT THE PEOPLE OF BURMA!
The people of Burma have demonstrated incredible bravery in the ongoing struggle against the brutal Burmese military regime.
In September 2007, over one million people, led by Buddhist monks, peacefully demonstrated for human rights and democracy. In the ensuing military crackdown, an estimated 3,000 people, including 1,400 monks and nuns, were arrested, and an estimated 200 were killed. On top of this brutality, Aung San Suu Kyi remains under house arrest. She is the world's only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
Known to much of the world as "Burma's Nelson Mandela", Suu Kyi leads a remarkable peaceful campaign for human rights and democracy against the Burmese military dictatorship. Like Mandela when he was imprisoned in South Africa, Suu Kyi has appealed for international support.
HOSTED BY ANJELICA HUSTON AND JIMMY MILLER
with Dan Adler, Julie Benz, Matt Burrows, Suzy Cameron, Kristin Hahn, Walter Koenig, Padma Lakshmi, Matt Lichtenberg, Rebecca Lichtenfeld, Lyle Poncher, Damien Rice, Eric Szmanda, & Bonnie Timmermann.
